Snettisham Post Office Sorting Office Victory

When Royal Mail issued a consultation on the prospective closure of the local sorting office at Snettisham Village Post Office, the local Post Master Kim Singer and village campaigners raised a massive petition against it.

They quite rightly pointed out that if the sorting office is moved to Hunstanton, this would mean that people would have to drive at least 3 miles to collect parcels that could not be delivered.

It would also mean that the local postman would end up driving far more miles overall, which would hardly be environmentally friendly.

Commenting on the issue, Henry Bellingham MP said:

‘Fortunately, we have now heard from the Head of the Royal Mail, Moya Green, that these plans are not going to go ahead.

This is a real tribute to the village campaigners, who have stood up for the local community.’
