On Wednesday 21st November during International Development questions Henry asked the Secretary of State for International Development, Penny Mordaunt MP, what pressures the Government are putting on other countries to meet their commitments with regards to the Rohingya people.
Commenting Henry said: “The plight of the Rohingya people is the worst regional crisis since the Bangladesh famine of 1974, which led to 1.5 million deaths. It is therefore only right that the British response has been truly outstanding.”
“I was very pleased indeed with the Minister’s response, who agreed with me that our international partners need to continue offering support to the Rohingya people, who are suffering a truly appalling circumstances.”
