MP bids farewell to RAF Tornado

On Monday 18th February Henry Bellingham MP for North West Norfolk asked Gavin Williamson MP, the Secretary of State for Defence, to pay tribute to the incredible crews who have manned the iconic Tornado aircraft at RAF Marham for the last forty years.

Commenting Henry said: “The Tornado is truly amazing aircraft that has been at the forefront of Britain’s defences for decades, from the Gulf War to the current ongoing operations against ISIS in Iraq and Syria. With the winding down of the Tornado it is truly the end of an era, however it is only right the Government have invested in the world’s most advanced fighter aircraft, the F35, in-order to replace the Tornado.”

“For many of us in Norfolk the Tornado has been a most welcome sight in Norfolk’s skies. I would like to join the Secretary of State in paying special tribute to the pilots and navigators who have shown supreme courage backed up always by their ground crew and their families at home in Norfolk.”
