MP delighted by additional funding for Adult Social Care

Henry Bellingham MP for North West Norfolk has expressed his delight at the news that Norfolk will receive just over £4million extra by way of winter funding for adult social care.

Commenting Henry said: “This additional funding is very much welcome news, indeed it will certainly make a difference in terms of freeing up hospital beds and supporting the NHS in delivering the best possible service by reducing delayed transfers and extended lengths of stay.”

“Incidentally, out of the additional £240 million of additional funding for council’s to spend on adult social care Norfolk’s allocation is the sixth largest of anywhere in the country, and is an obvious recognition of the pressures we face in our county as a consequence of an ageing population.”
