North West Norfolk MP, Henry Bellingham, has signed up to support this year’s Earth Hour by making a special pledge to help protect the planet ahead of the global lights out event on Saturday 29th March at 8:30pm.

North West Norfolk MP Henry Bellingham braved a trip on the dizzyingly high Altitude ride at the annual King’s Lynn Mart in the Tuesday Market Place.Henry, Bishop of Lynn the Rt. Revd Jonathan Meyrick, West Norfolk Mayor Elizabeth Watson and chaplain to the Showman’s Guild the Reverend Canon Simon Stokes, were all persuaded onto the 140 foot high ride in exchange for each receiving a £100 donation for charity. The £400 was split between local charities Red Wellies and The Norfolk Hospice.Disembarking, Henry commented: “I feel rather queasy now. I don’t think I can eat my lunch.”

Campaigners calling for more help for those struggling to keep warm this winter delivered hand-knitted scarves to Henry Bellingham and Peter Aldous, MP for Waveney, in Parliament to thank them for their support.
